Come celebrate Veterans Day with a group of veterans and supporters. Portsmouth Island (also known as North Core Banks) sits across Ocracoke Inlet from Ocracoke Island and is one of the most beautiful places in North Carolina. For more information, please visit https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portsmouth,_North_Carolina. The island is only accessable by private ferry.   Please make reservation by calling 1-252-225-4261, for more schedules and pricing please visit https://www.morrismarinaferry.com.   The ferry service has limited time slots and VERY limited space, it fills up fast, do not wait until last minute.

We will have overland gear for a veteran raffle!

You are responsible for your ferry permit, orv permit, vehicle, gas, food  and any other expenses you may incur.

RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT

Veteran Overland Adventure Company 

Special Events

In exchange for participation in Veteran Overland Adventure Company event including possibly dangerous and potentially deadly off-road travel, overlanding and overnight camping (the “Activity”), organized by Veteran Overland Adventure Company (“Releasee”), I hereby agree as follows:

  1. I and anyone in my party and anyone claiming on my behalf release forever discharge Veteran Overland Adventure Company and its affiliates, successors and assigns, officers, employees, representatives, partners, agents and anyone claiming through them (collectively, the “Released Parties”), in their individual and/or corporate capacities from causes of action of any nature and kind, known or unknown, which I may have against Veteran Overland Adventure Company or any Released Parties arising out of or relating to any injury, loss or damage to person and property (including lost or stolen) that may be sustained as a result of participation in the Activity (“Claims”).
  2. I fully understand that: (a) participation in the Activity involves inherent risks and dangers; (b) my participation in the Activity may result in my injury illness or property damage including but not limited to the risk of physical or psychological injury, pain, suffering, illness, disfigurement, temporary or permanent paralysis, and/or death or other ailments that could cause serious disability, or damage of any kind and degree to personal property; (c) these risks and dangers may be caused by the negligence of Veteran Overland Adventure Company and all Released Parties; the negligence of the participants, the negligence of others, accidents, the forces of nature or other causes. These risks and dangers may arise from foreseeable or unforeseeable causes: and (d) by my participation in the Activity, I hereby assume all related risks, dangers, and all responsibility, including but not limited to financial, for any losses and/or damages, whether caused in whole or in part by the negligence or other conduct of Veteran Overland Adventure Company and all Released Parties, or by any other person, and voluntarily participate in the Activity.
  3.  I, on behalf of myself, my party, my personal representatives, and my heirs, hereby voluntarily agree to release, waive, discharge, hold harmless, defend, and indemnify Veteran Overland Adventure Company or any Released Parties from any and all claims, actions or losses for bodily injury, property damages, wrongful death, loss of services, lawsuits, judgements, including attorney’s fees, or otherwise which may arise out of or relating to my participation in the Activity. I specifically understand that I am releasing, discharging, and waiving any claims or actions that I may have presently or in the future for the negligent acts or other conduct by Veteran Overland Adventure Company and all Released Parties.
  4.  This Release for Participation in Event or Activity (“Release”) shall not be in any way construed as an admission by the Releasee (Veteran Overland Adventure Company and all Released Parties) that it has acted wrongfully with respect to me or any other person, that it admits liability or responsibility at any time for any purpose, or that I have any rights whatsoever against the Releasee (Veteran Overland Adventure Company and all Released Parties).
  5.  This Release shall be binding upon the parties and their respective heirs, administrators, personal representatives, executors, successors and assigns. I have the authority to release the Claims and have not assigned or transferred any Claims to any other party. The provisions of this Release are severable. If any provision is held to be invalid or unenforceable, it shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. This Release constitutes the entire agreement between parties and supersedes any prior oral or written agreements or understandings between the parties concerning the subject matter of this Release. This Release may not be altered, amended, or modified, except by a written document signed by both parties. The terms of this Release shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina. 
  6. By signing below I am acknowledging that I have carefully read and fully understand all the provisions of this Release and am freely, knowingly, and voluntarily entering into this Release.
